Progress report on the canoe yawl- now housed in an Onehunga garage

The boat building nightclasses are gone.. the boat school is gone.. over the past few weeks, I’ve been setting up my friend’s garage as a workspace. at first I was worried it would be too small and dark, and not having Bandsaws and Thicknessers immediately on hand definitely makes you approach problems differently. However, I couldn’t have guessed what a beautiful workspace it turns out to be, cool and well ventilated, surrounded by greenery, and just 15mins from my home via human powered transport!

At the moment I’m putting some hours into removing lumpy resin from inside the hull (thanks Bosch multitool) and getting it ready for the centrecase and first deck beam.
